Cyber Security Training
All new employees will have (30) days to complete the course after joining the County of Santa Barbara.
The County's Cyber Security Awareness Training is a computer-based training (CBT) course that is required to be completed annually by any personnel who access the County's computer network.
The course titled, "Securing the Human" is offered by the SANS Institute.
The course material consists of (32) individual modules that focus on specific areas related to cyber security such as email security, passwords and social engineering. These modules are designed to inform county employees and contractors with the knowledge needed to protect sensitive information as well as to recognize and avoid cyber-attacks.
The course does not need to be completed in one sitting. Modules can be completed individually and will be saved on exit. The entire course will require approximately one hour to complete.
