• Developed and implemented the County's Fire Transfer Tax which redirected General Fund dollars into the Fire Department, prioritizing capital improvements in a department that is continually challenged by some of the worst wildfires in our nation.
  • Developed the County's Cannabis Ordinance, creating millions of dollars in new revenue which has assisted with enforcement, education, libraries and a host of other social services.
  • Helped move the County into a new era of clean energy by implementing the Climate Action Plan, building a $130M resource recovery project at the Tajigus Landfill, and converting the County's fleet to electric vehicles.
  • Hosted 9 consecutive Veteran Stand Downs, providing comfort and care to thousands of veterans who are either homeless or near homeless.
  • Testified before Congress in support of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, stressing the need for open communication and Government to Government relations.
