At approximately 2:15 a.m. this morning, February 20, 2018, the Chumash Casino Security Dispatch called the Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center to report that two of its Chumash Security Investigators were in an altercation with a male subject and needed assistance.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, February 18, 2018, Santa Barbara Sheriff's Deputies assigned to the Santa Maria Valley area responded to a report of an intoxicated subject vandalizing vehicles in the 200 block of Pacific St. in Orcutt. Prior to their arrival, the suspect had fled in his vehicle.
It is important for the public to understand the risks associated with storms in the area and what to do when evacuation orders are issued. To provide information on future storm risks and evacuation information, the County is holding a community meeting on Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Carpinteria High School, 4810 Foothill Rd., in the cafeteria. Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available.
