The Bar Fire was contained at 20 acres by late evening on August 24, thanks in part to the quick response of air resources from the nearby Rey Fire. Containment is expected today and no evacuation orders are in place.
Rey Fire Information
Total burn area: 31,505 acres. 39% containment. Smoke will continue to be visible for large distances. There is an Air Quality Watch in place throughout the count, and residents are encouraged to limit their exposure to smoke. Hourly air quality readings taken at various locations can be found on the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District website.
East Camino Cielo has been closed at Highway 154. Gibraltar Road is closed between E. Camino Cielo and Santa Barbara city limits.
State Hwy 154 is open in both directions between Santa Ynez and Santa Barbara. Paradise Road remains closed.
Paradise Road remains closed and the evacuation order has not been lifted. Those with proof of Paradise Road residency are permitted to access their homes.
