The Treasurer - Tax Collector - Public Administrator is independently elected by the voters of Santa Barbara County to receive, safeguard, and invest county, school, and special district funds; collect taxes and revenues; administer estates for county residents when required as public administrator; administer conservatorships for county residents when required as public guardian; and assist county veterans in obtaining State and Federal Benefits. The duties and responsibilities of the office are established by law in the Government Code, Revenue and Taxation Code, Probate Code, State Constitution, and county ordinances. In Santa Barbara County the functions of the office are organized into the divisions of the Tax Collector, Treasurer, Public Administrator, Public Guardian, Veterans Services, and Deferred Compensation. Request for Financial Advisory Statement of Qualifications
The Santa Barbara County Treasurer-Tax Collector (Treasurer) requests that financial advisory firms interested in being admitted to the Treasurer's financial advisor pool submit a Statement of Qualifications to this office by 1:00 PM on January 19, 2016, to be considered for an appointment to serve as a pricing or financial advisor for bonds, notes, and other debt obligation programs.
In addition to the pool for financial advisory firms, the Treasurer is interested in identifying firms with expertise in financing of large scale solid waste facilities including but not limited to materials recycling facilities and anaerobic digestion facilities.

Payments made by mail must be United States Postmarked by the delinquent date to avoid late penalties.
Payments may be made in person at either of the two County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office locations between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday, holidays excepted.
FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT RELIEVE THE TAXPAYER OF THE RESPONSIBIILTY TO MAKE TIMELY PAYMENTS
