The County of Santa Barbara has made addressing climate change a top priority. In May 2015, the County Board of Supervisors adopted the Energy and Climate Action Plan (ECAP). The ECAP established a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the unincorporated county by 15% below 2007 levels by 2020 and outlined strategies to help reach this goal.
The ECAP includes 53 actions, referred to as emissions reduction measures, which are aggregated into 11 core strategies. This website showcases the County's progress in implementing the ECAP. We invite you to explore the 11 core greenhouse gas reduction strategies, plus other County sustainability initiatives, by clicking each icon to the right.
