Senior Operations Controller
Two-year Associates degree in Electronics, completion of military technical school in electronics or four years electronics experience is preferred.The Command Transmitter position is a critical part of Range Safety. Must be able to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment. Must be able to react immediately to rapidly changing conditions to protect the safety of Vandenberg and the surrounding communities. Will operate equipment including high power transmitters, antenna pedestal assemblies, antenna controllers and the command transmitter console at any of the CT sites. Training as a Certified Command Controller is required. Will perform preventative maintenance, fault isolation, corrective maintenance on individual equipment and systems associated with command transmitter systems. Will coordinate operational set-ups and maintenance requirements for all CT technicians and conduct training for technicians at all levels. Representative equipment types include, but are not limited to: antennas, RF emitters, and wire line or optical data modems, multiplexers, computers, printers, and COMSEC cryptographic equipment. Must also be able to operate oscilloscopes, multi-meters and specialty RF test equipment. Must be able to isolate system faults to individual unit and further reduce fault to the lowest replaceable unit. A working knowledge of RED/BLACK communications and security practices are a must.

Jr. Communications Maintenance Technician
Technician receives technical guidance from supervision or higher-level technicians, for compliance of accepted policies, practices and procedures. Applicants must be able to apply technical knowledge to solve problems that occur the cable network. Duties include assisting higher-level technicians while testing, fault locating, splicing, and terminating copper and fiber optic cables. Excavates splice pits and trenches using hand tools, trenchers and backhoes. Monitors and uses confined space testing/monitoring equipment, such as, continuous air sources (manhole blowers) and sump pumps to facilitate a safe working environment, while working in manholes, cable vaults, and other confined spaces. Will be required to interpret, correct, and update cable, manhole, hand hole and cable vault diagrams. Cannot be color blind, claustrophobic, or have fear of heights. Technician is required to work on ladders or in man lift vehicles at heights up to 30 feet, and utilize climbing equipment while working on utility poles and towers. Applicant must have a valid California Drivers License. A Secret Security Clearance is mandatory for employment. Must have basic computer skills for electronic time reporting, and to send and receive E-Mail. HS Diploma or GED required.

Senior Systems Analyst
A BS degree in a technical discipline is desired with a minimum of five or more years of directly related experience. The successful applicant will be the primary technical authority for the Range Data Control Center (RDCC). Representative of supported equipment types include: NSA type 1 cryptographic equipment, IMUX recorders, Metric Data Display Systems, Matrix Data Switches, JANAP 128 specific computerized message store and forward systems. An extensive working knowledge of the UNIX operation system, LINUX and variants, Microsoft operating systems and IBM OS/2 is an intrinsic part of the support function. Senior Technician (8U)
Experience with test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, RF signal generators, power meters, recorders, receivers and bit synchronizers is required.
