Charitable Giving Campaign
A Letter from William Boyer
Dear County Employees,
Our two local United Way organizations have launched several great partnerships with the County of Santa Barbara to provide long-term solutions for people in need throughout our communities. Their collaborative efforts with the County of Santa Barbara is critical for the future of our local communities.
By focusing on education, income, and health, their programs and partnerships can directly or indirectly improve the lives of every person living in Santa Barbara County and will continue to do so for years to come. That’s why it is so appropriate that “You and I, Uniting our Communities” is this year’s Charitable Giving Campaign theme.
Contributions made through the annual campaign make these programs and partnerships possible. They ensure early childhood learning opportunities, job training, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence prevention, adult day care and in-home care for seniors, and many other wonderful programs and partnerships that help local people of every age.
The 2009 Charitable Giving Campaign runs from October 1 through November 20. If you did not pledge during last year’s campaign, please take that step today and make a pledge this year. If you did pledge last year, I want to thank you for your contribution and ask you to please consider increasing your gift if your situation allows you to do so.
Our combined contributions and efforts benefit our entire community and provide a lifeline for our friends and neighbors who have fallen into challenging circumstances and need help during these difficult economic times.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
William H. Boyer
