Surveyor's Office: The Office Section is primarily responsible for checking subdivision maps, records of surveys, lot line adjustments, corner records, voluntary mergers, and certificates of compliance for compliance with Federal State and local laws and ordinances. The Office staff index and file all final maps, parcel maps, and records of surveys after recording and is also responsible for all jurisdictional and special district boundary mapping within the County. Right of Way: Right of Way determination provides answers to and makes determinations about Right-of-Way and Easement ownership information for Santa Barbara County Public Works. Real Property: The Real Property Section provides professional real estate services to meet space needs and requirements for Santa Barbara County Public Works. We prepare and negotiate real property transactions including easements, abandondonments, leases, sales and purchases. GeoIntegration: The GeoIntegration Team is composed of a small staff, that provides mapping support and spatial services to all the divisions within the Public Works Department. Primarily tasked with the development of the Public Works Enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the team helps provide cost-saving solutions to the various projects and intiatives that are geographic in nature.Field Survey: The Field Section provides topographic, boundary, control and construction surveys for Santa Barbara County projects using the latest surveying equipment and computer software. This section is also responsible for preparing legal descriptions, maps, and records of surveys of County facilities. Engineering manages local, regional, national and global spatial data
infrastructures. Geomatics engineers apply engineering principles to spatial
information and implement relational data structures involving measurement
sciences and using Geomatics for Spatial Information Engineering. Field Survey data combined with Geomatics Engineering practices provide topographic, boundary, control and construction surveys for Santa Barbara County projects using the latest surveying equipment and computer software. The tasks of this section are more closely related to Civil Engineering and include the design and layout of public infrastructure and urban subdivisions, as well as mapping and control surveys for engineering projects.This section is also responsible for preparing legal descriptions, maps, and records of surveys of Santa Barbara County facilities.
