Santa Ynez Basins
The Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District was formed in 1939 and protects water rights and supplies within the Santa Ynez River watershed, manages releases of water from Bradbury Dam to replenish downstream basins along the River and on the Lompoc Plain, and provides water management throughout the area.

Santa Maria Basin
The Santa Maria Valley Groundwater Basin was adjudicated in 2008 and its management is dictated by the courts.  The court action requires annual reporting which can be found on DWR's Adjudicated Basins Annual Reporting System or on the City of Santa Maria's website.
