Santa Barbara County Public Works Department

The Real Property Section of the County of Santa Barbara Public Works Department provides professional real estate services to meet the needs of the Public Works Department as well as the public.

For the Public Works Department, we facilitate real property transactions including:
• The purchase of easements and fee-simple property;
• The sale of fee-owned property controlled by the Public Works Department;
• The vacation (abandonment) of County road right-of-way;
• The abandonment of public service easements;
• Leases serving Public Works space needs;
• License agreements;
• Temporary Entry Permits and Right of Entry Agreements;
• Any miscellaneous real property transactions serving the Public Works Department.
