Haul Permit Requirements

 

PLAN SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS

Road Division Encroachment Permits are required whenever any activity (use) is being performed within the County Road Right of Way. The following items need to be submitted in order to process your permit:

1. Three (3) sets of plans (No larger than 24" x 36") to include the following information. Specify Metric or English Units.

a. Site Plan (Vicinity Map) showing the private property line and County Road Right of Way in relationship to the edge of street pavement.
b. The edge of pavement and gutter lip.
c. North Arrow and Scale. Scale must NOT be smaller than 1" = 20'.
d. Addresses and Assessor's Parcel Numbers.
e. If trenching is over 30 meters (100 feet) engineered plans with stationing may be required.
f. Trench Detail (Depth, Width, etc.)

2. Differentiate between all existing improvements (structures, hardscape, landscape, etc.) and the proposed new improvements, including but not limited to the following:

a. Hardscape (asphalt and/or concrete ) to include driveway approach(es), parking areas, paving, curbing and/or berms, sidewalks, curb and gutters, etc. Show type and dimensions,
b. Drainage facilities, both major and minor.
c. Trenching and/or the placement of utilities to include utility boxes, pedestals, pads, vaults and poles, etc. shall be delineated in a typical trench detail outlining the size, type, length, location, etc.
d. Landscaping to include trees, shrubs, groundcover, irrigation facilities, walls, pillars, fences, gates, and a planting schedule/legend.
e. All other miscellaneous construction and improvements.

3. A Public Works Cost Estimate including Engineering Analysis and Calculations. Cost Estimate may not be required for minor construction.

In addition to the above requirements, the required forms within the Application Package (Departmental Clearance Request Form, Permit Information Contact List, and Property Owner (Permittee) Authorization form) shall be submitted to the appropriate Road Division Permit Office for review and permit issuance.

Please allow a minimum of two (2) working days for initial review. Permit issuance will follow as time allows. For further information, call the appropriate office as follows: South County Road Encroachments: 681-4990, North County Road Encroachments: 739-8750.
