Construction on the 2016/17 Isla Vista Sidewalk Improvement Project is scheduled to begin on April 3, 2017. Contractors will construct a continuous pedestrian path on the north side of Sabado Tarde Road from Camino Corto to Camino Pescadero, for a total length of 2,400 feet.

Construction on the Jalama Road Bridge that connects State Highway 1 to Jalama Road was completed on February 24, 2017. The bridge was strengthened and the width increased by seven feet on the north side to create two 12-foot wide travel lanes and 2-foot wide shoulders.
