The Zoning Administrator public hearings are usually held on the first and third Mondays of each month at 9:30 AM in either the County Engineering Building, Planning Commission Hearing Room located at 123 East Anapamu Street in Santa Barbara, or in the North County Planning and Development Office located at 624 W. Foster Road in Santa Maria.

The Zoning Administrator is an individual appointed by the Director of Planning and Development as the designated decision-maker for various minor permits (outside of the Montecito Community Plan area), including Coastal Development Permits in the appeals jurisdiction, Lot Line Adjustments, and Minor Conditional Use Permits.
