Draft amendments to Chapter 25 of the County Code.  Proposed changes to the Petroleum code include the addition of Section 25-43 (Remediation of High Risk Operations) and related definitions.
 
The Draft Santa Ynez Valley Community Plan EIR has been released for public comment. The comment period has been extended until 5:00 p.m. on Monday September 22, 2008. Additional information is available on the Santa Ynez Valley Community Plan EIR webpage.
 
Building and Safety Division fee study results
The Building and Safety Division and an independent consultant worked together to convert the County’s current system of valuation-based fees to cost-based fees. This analytical approach is consistent with industry trends for building permit, inspection and grading fees and is intended to improve accuracy and to ensure compliance with state law. Weekend Zoning Enforcement Discontinued
Due to budget constraints Planning and Development must discontinue weekend zoning enforcement. This change is effective July 1, 2008. No other code enforcement program changes are anticipated at this time. Our 24 hour code complaint phone line is 805-934-6251 in North County, 805-565-3558 in South County and 805-686-5020 in Santa Ynez. New Fee Schedule July 1, 2008
