During construction hours, public traffic may be stopped for periods not to exceed 15 minutes. At the end of 15 minutes, the road must be opened and all accumulated traffic cleared out before another 15 minute closure can commence. At all other times, there will be a temporary traffic signal for reversing control. This is essentially the same system as the road has been operating under since 2005, but instead of a stop sign there will be temporary signals.
You can now make an online reservation for cabins, yurts and large group camping areas at Cachuma Lake and Jalama Beach. Tent and RV camping sites at Cachuma Lake and Jalama Beach are first come first serve; no reservations are required.
