Tent, Trailer and RV Camping

Cachuma Lake offers several hundred basic and lake-view sites throughout the park that can accommodate tents and/or self-contained RV's. These campsites are defined by a permanent fire pit/ring and a single picnic table with flowing boundaries.  You'll also find hot showers, restrooms and water nearby. 

Campsites reservations are available online by clicking on the "Make a Reservation!" button on the left. 


Set amongst dense native oak trees or open areas with spectacular views, everyone has their favorite spot at Cachuma Lake. 

Book a single spot to get away or reserve multiple units to bring the group together;  Open year-round with busy summer weekends and beautiful fall weather, there is no bad time to come for a visit. Summer weekends tend to be busy, so please plan in advance. 

We have 100+ full hookup sites with dedicated electrical, water, and sewer, and 30+ partial hookups with dedicated electrical and water. There is a dump station conveniently located on site that is available for campers. Our campsites vary in size so plan accordingly. RVs are allowed to park and camp in basic sites. If you can park it, you can camp it. Tent-only campers are NOT allowed to set up in the RV section (site #'s 1-121). 

There are flush-toilet restrooms and coin operated showers strategically located throughout the park for easy walking convenience with additional port-a-potty units as needed.  Also, there are numerous shared potable water spigots all around the park. 


For the safety and enjoyment of all, a maximum of 8 persons and/or 2 vehicles and/or 4 tents are allowed to be at any single campsite at any time. These limits will be strictly enforced and groups that exceed any of these limits will be required to purchase and set up at an additional campsite. If no additional campsites are available, you may be asked to leave the park. Vehicles MUST be parked at the location of the parking permit.

Failure to comply with park rules can result in a County Notice to Appear Citation with fine and/or eviction. Santa Barbara County Code Chapter 26:

Sec. 26-61- Vehicle parking at campsite. No person shall park, permit, or maintain more than two motor vehicles at any campsite within any county recreation area without the prior authorization of a CSD employee on duty within the area.

Sec. 26-65- Camp sanitation; occupancy limit. A) No more than eight persons shall be permitted in any designated campsite without prior approval of the park employee on duty. B) It shall be unlawful to occupy more space for camping purposes than the campsite designated. C) The size, type and arrangement of camping equipment shall be suitable for the design of the campsite and the space provided.

Quiet hours at the park are from 10:00PM till 7:00AM. During these times, no noise shall be heard beyond the area of your specific campsite(s). All radios, generators, and vehicle motors must be off, and no musical instruments are to be used. All voices need to be kept to a volume to only be heard in your own campsite. Beyond these times, courtesy to others will always be enforced in terms of music, voices and obnoxious noises.
