Santa Barbara County GIS Internship

Our County GIS Internship Program provides opportunities for participation in our departmental GIS projects. Currently our program is in partnership with the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) where students from both the Geography Department and Geology Department receive credit in exchange for dedicating hours to County GIS projects.

UCSB Students who participate in our County GIS Internship Program, get experience using the latest GIS technology. Students gain insight in how to deploy GIS solutions for local government, while developing valuable technical skills.

GIS projects are specialized to the different operations within our County, and activities include environmental, hydrologic, transportation, utility, and surveying applications.
