NURSING IN PUBLIC HEALTH

The Public Health Department (PHD) has approximately 600 employees and provides combined public health and primary care services. We employ nearly 100 nurses in many different programs and in different job classifications. The County does not operate a hospital. Instead, we operate outpatient services within six community health clinics and promote health and disease prevention for the community.
