Aetna Vision Discount Program

Aetna’s health plans now include coverage for vision refraction exams through your primary medical group. In addition to the covered exam, Aetna’s vision discount program can provide discounts on vision products at selected stores. In addition to the information below, see the Aetna Vision Discount flyer <click here> If you have VSP coverage, this is in addition to your VSP exam and eyewear benefits. This is a discount program only, not insurance coverage.

The Aetna Vision discount program helps members save on many eye care services and products, including eye exams, LASIK surgery, eyeglasses, contact lenses, nonprescription sunglasses, contact lens solutions and other eye care accessories -- at no additional premium cost. The Aetna Vision discount program is a rate-access only program—it is not insurance. It is in addition to any vision care plan benefits a plan sponsor may offer through the health benefits plan.

Aetna has contracted with EyeMed Vision Care to offer a network of providers participating in the Aetna Vision discount program. Members can choose from a large network of optical centers nationwide including Sears Optical®, JCPenney® Optical, Lenscrafters®, Target Optical® and participating Pearle Vision® locations, as well as independent optometrists and ophthalmologists.

To find a participating center in your area:
• Log in to Aetna Navigator and search DocFind® for vision locations

How the Aetna Vision discount program works:
• Select any participating optical center or professional.
• Show your Aetna member ID when you receive care or purchase eye care products to receive discounts.
• Payment is due for services not covered by your benefit plan at the time of service or by arrangement with your eye care professional.
• This is not insurance, so there are no claims to file unless you have separate vision coverage.

The Aetna Vision discount program helps members save on:
• Eye exams
• Eyewear (lenses and frames)
• Accessories, including contact lens solutions and other supplies
• LASIK surgery. Call U.S. Laser Network Customer Service (1-800-422-6600)
• Contact lenses. Call Contacts Direct Customer Service (1-800-391-5367)

Advantages of the Aetna Vision discount program for Members:
• No approvals or referrals.
• Choose from hundreds of fashionable frames and the latest in lens technology.
• Simply show your Aetna ID card to receive discounts instantly for applicable services and eyewear.
• There are no claim forms to complete ... and no waiting for reimbursement.
