Homeless Assistance Programs

      

The Santa Maria/Santa Barbara County Continuum of Care could receive over $9 million in funding to address homelessness in the new 

Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) funded by the State of California. For more information click here.

 

The Housing and Community Development Division (HCD) administers federally and locally-funded grant programs dedicated to addressing the needs of individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.


CoC Program

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program is a federally-funded program that is designed to assist homeless individuals and families and provide them with the services needed to help them move into transitional and permanent housing with the goal of achieving long-term stability.

ESG Program

The Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program is a federally-funded program that seeks to address the needs of individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

HMIS

A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is an electronic data collection tool designed to capture client-level information over time on the characteristics and service needs of homeless persons and services provided to homeless persons.
