The Santa Barbara rental market is largely inaccessible to low and very low income households.  The Santa Barbara County HOME Consortium has placed rental housing for individuals and small and large households as a priority, and awards HOME Program funding to private and non-profit developers for the development of affordable rental housing.  While the County Housing and Community Development Department neither manages rental housing nor administers rental programs, the following link provides information on local affordable housing resources: Affordable Housing Resources
