The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rain to fall in Santa Barbara County tonight from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Moisture levels and intensity associated with this storm system occurs one out of every 11 years. The area of concern for flash flooding is the Sherpa Fire burn area.
Due to anticipated heavy rain over a short period, an evacuation warning has been issued for parts of the Sherpa Fire burn area including Refugio, Las Flores and El Capitan canyons.
