What's New

The California State Lands Commission has released the Draft EIR for the Venoco Full Field Development Project and is available on the CSLC website.  Staff from the California State Lands Commission, the lead CEQA agency, and the City of Goleta and County of Santa Barbara, which are responsible agencies, will hold a public workshop on the project August 6, 2008.  The City of Goleta has primary permit jurisdiction for the project as described in summary below:

Project Description

• Adjust State Lease PRC 3242.1 boundary eastward to allow development of the South Ellwood Field from Platform Holly
• Drill up to 40 new wells
• Oil production peak of 12,600 BPD after 5 years
• Gas production peak of 20 MMSCFD after 5 years
• Construct a new 10-mile onshore pipeline from the EOF to the Plains AAPL pipeline system at Las Flores Canyon
• Decommission and abandon Ellwood Marine Terminal and offshore loading facilities
• Safety and environmental upgrades at EOF and new power generation plant

Project Status
