What's New

The County's Petroleum Office and the State Department of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources have initiated compliance activity to properly abandon the El Capitan (onshore) field.

Description

This site once housed an onshore well for production of oil and gas from the El Capitan Onshore field. Today, the site is being cleaned up and restored.

Location

Saba's Eruburu Wellsite #19 is located in the El Capitan (onshore) field approximately 20 miles west of the City of Santa Barbara on the north side of U.S. 101. There are currently 51 idled wells in the El Capitan field.
