Onshore Facilities

  • Plot Plan

  • The gas processing facility is surrounded by a 640 acre oil field located in the southern Cuyama Valley. The facility includes an office, compression plant, warehouse, shops, and associated natural gas and processing infra-structure to remove heavier hydrocarbons, Hydrogen S ulfide and Carbon Dioxide to produce sales quality gas.

Product Distribution

Propane

  • Distributed via tanker truck

  • Product Destination:
    • Varies according to season and market demand
    • Largely sent to distribution network in Kern County

Natural Gas

  • Distributed via sales gas line to utility.

Past Activities

  • An annual SSRRC safety audit was completed on October 24, 2007.
  • In October of 2007, the Hallador Cuyama Plant 10 facility was sold to E&B Resources; the facility is now owned and operated by E&B Resources.
  • In early 2003, former operator Hallador received all permits and implemented two process improvements to the existing gas processing facility:
    • CO2 Treatment System – An amine-based system to remove excess CO2 from the natural gas stream was implemented to meet a new inert percentage ceiling on the sales gas stream to the gas company.
    • LPG Handling Process Changes – Instituted the cessation of LPG storage and truck loading operations at the facility. LPGs are now introduced into the existing crude oil stream transported via pipeline. The absence of LPG storage and trucking operations reduces the potential hazards at the facility.
  • The facility has operated under a series of owners, including Arco, Stream Energy and Hallador.
  • The Gas Plant has been permitted to process gas since 1988.
