Santa Barbara Harbor - Fishermen's Market
|
|
Every Saturday morning, between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m., commercial fishers
sell their catch directly from their boats to the public at Santa Barbara
Harbor. This attraction, where buyers can find the freshest fish in the
region, operates hand-in-glove with the nearby Farmers' Market. The Fisheries
Enhancement Fund helped cover costs of starting the Fishermen's Market,
purchasing gear such as scales and ice chests, as well as funding costs
of permits and advertising. People buying fish from the boats can also
have their fish steaked or filleted at a nearby cutting station, also
funded by the Fisheries Enhancement Fund. |
