The District Attorney's Office contracts with the Department of
Child Support Services to investigate and prosecute non-payment
of child support cases which meet the definition set forth in Penal
Code section 270.
Additional contract services involve the management and monitoring
of convicted "non-supporters" when the court ordered monthly
payments as a term and condition of probation. The Unit is active
in filing violations of probation when payments are missed, issuing
warrants for absconders and locating and extraditing those arrested
on warrants.
