The Narcotics Unit consists of a number of specialized units.
The MNVP (Major Narcotic Vendor Prosecution) Unit consists of two
attorneys, one north and one south, who handle all high-level narcotics
sales, possession for sale and manufacturing cases. The MNVP prosecutor
works closely with law enforcement for MNVP unit prosecution. The
MNVP prosecutor directly reviews search and arrest warrants, and
discusses search / case issues in advance.
As a vertical prosecution unit, it endeavors to keep major dealers
in custody pending the conclusion of the case and seeks maximum
penalties for these drug sellers.
The GDFT (General Drug Felony Team)
consists of additional attorneys north and south who work with county
narcotics task forces, individual agency narcotic units and routine
law enforcement cases. These attorneys handle street level / possession
for sales and possession cases.
