Welcome to the County of Santa Barbara
Commission for Women’s website!
The Commission for Women seeks to promote
well-being and equal status of women in Santa Barbara County.
Our goal is to help women in need, collaborate with other
agencies, facilitate, recognize and recommend programs, gather
and disseminate information, conduct public meetings and advise
the Board of Supervisors.
Our monthly meetings are open to the public. Any group which
would like to make a presentation to the Commission should
contact the EEO office at (805) 568-2807 to be added to the
agenda. We encourage groups which work with women and girls
to use our website as a centralized source of information.
Submissions may be made by email: eeo-mgr@co.santa-barbara.ca.us
Our commission is made up of energetic and committed women,
who are active community members from each of the five supervisorial
districts. We invite you to consider applying to your local
supervisor to serve as a commissioner.
This year we want to increase our outreach and visibility
in North and South County. We will be planning a community
event in North County this year as well as ongoing activities
with our subgroups which include planning and sharing of information
regarding Women’s Health issues, Women in Education
and Community Outreach Efforts.
Thank you for visiting our web site! Additionally we invite
you to visit our Facebook Group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/sbcountywomen/
