The Clerk of the Board
The Clerk of the Board is a Division of the County Executive Office. The Clerk of the Board provides a range of services to the Public, the Board of Supervisors and County Staff. The Office of the Clerk of the Board employs 6 full-time staff who are responsible for the following program areas - Board of Supervisors, Assessment Appeals, Roster of Board member Appointed Boards, Commissions and Committees and for the maintenance and publication of the Santa Barbara County Code. In addition, The Clerk of the Board serves as Clerk to the Santa Barbara County City Selection Committee, the Fire Appeals Board, the Assessment Appeals Board and the Indian Gaming Committee.
The Clerk of the Board Office is responsible for providing legislative support services for the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. The Clerk's office is responsible for assisting the Chair of the Board and the County Administrator in the management of the Board of Supervisors meeting schedule and calendar; for the preparation of the Board Meeting Agenda and "Agenda Packets" which contain the Staff reports and associated materials to be considered at each meeting; and for the codification and publication into the County Code of all legislative acts approved by the Board. In addition to the preparation of the weekly agenda of the Board of Supervisors, the Clerk of the Board is responsible for the Action Summary - the written record of actions taken by the Board at each meeting.
