Children’s Service Screeners (CSS) are co-located at each regional Department of Social Services site throughout the County.  Brief screenings are provided for each child entering the foster care system to identify mental health needs and provide linkage to appropriate resources.

Crisis Intervention Training assists law enforcement officers who are often the first point of contact for people in crisis or experiencing a psychiatric emergency. The training prepares law enforcement professionals to recognize the signs and symptoms of severe mental illness, with or without the co-occurrence of substance abuse, and provides them with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively.

Mental Health Educators /Promotoras are health educators who serve culturally underserved communities.  They offer educational workshops, discussion groups and support groups to address individual and family member mental health and wellness topics.  Culturally-informed training sessions are provided to community leaders and service providers.

Mental Health First Aid Instructors are certified trainers who provide information about mental health conditions to organizations and members of the public, equipping them with key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
