How to Give

Pledging

The County of Santa Barbara offers several easy ways to give to the Charitable Giving Campaign and help our community.

Click here to pledge online through United Way of Santa Barbara County's secure online vendor.

Click here to print a paper form to turn in to your Site Representative.

The County of Santa Barbara is also offering the option to make a Continuous Pledge. Continuous Pledges do not need to be renewed annually and can be increased or changed during any Charitable Giving Campaign year. If you would like to find out more about Continuous Pledging or check the status of your pledge, please contact Chris Schwass at 965.8591 x114.

Frequently Asked Questions

 Q. How do I contribute?

By completing your pledge form (print or online) and returning it to your Site Rep by Wednesday, October 31.

 Q. When does my payroll deduction start?

Your payroll deduction pledge will begin in pay period 1-2008 and will continue through pay period 26-2008.

 Q. If I am a continuous giver do I need to turn in my pledge card?

We ask that all employees submit a pledge form to ensure that we reach everyone. If you are a Continuous Giver, simply write "Continuous" on your pledge form and submit it to your Site Rep. We are encouraging Continuous Givers to increase their gift by at least 10% to match inflation and employee attrition. This will allow the County's Charitable Giving Campaign to maintain and expand its impact on our community.

Q. What if I want to give to a specific charity?

If you do not restrict your gift to a specific charity, the CGC Managing Agency, United Way of Santa Barbara County, will use its trained volunteers to allocate the funds where they are most needed in services throughout Santa Barbara County. If you wish to restrict your gift to a particular charity, please list the name and address/city/state of any registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in the US. You may find the Agency Code for the charity at www.unitedwaysb.org/help_agency.html. Processing restricted gifts carries a 13.3% administrative fee. There is no fee for pledges over $100 to geographic regions.

 Q. What if I have new employees that do not have a pre-printed pledge form?

All County employees may pledge online and blank pledge cards are available. Please call Chris Schwass at 965-8591 x114 at United Way of Santa Barbara County to arrange for extras to be dropped off.
