A Letter from Bob Nisbet

Dear County Employees,

Now more than ever, your support is critical to our community. We are facing very difficult economic times this year, both here in Santa Barbara County and throughout the United States. For this reason, the 2008 County of Santa Barbara Charitable Giving Campaign is the most important annual campaign in recent memory. This year's campaign presents a wonderful opportunity for all County employees to make a positive difference in the lives of local, underprivileged families at a critical time.

Contributions made through the annual campaign make many important programs possible. They ensure early childhood learning opportunities, job training, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence prevention, adult day care and in-home care for seniors, and many other programs that help local people of every age.

The 2008 Charitable Giving Campaign will run from September 4th through October 31st. If you did not pledge during last year's campaign, please consider doing so this year. If you did pledge last year, please consider increasing your gift. Our combined contributions and efforts benefit everyone in our community and provide a lifeline for our friends and neighbors who have fallen into trying circumstances and need our help now more than ever.
