The dogs, cats and rabbits of Santa Barbara County's animal shelters announce the launch of their 2017 "Home for the Holidays" campaign. The animals intend to appeal to both the general public and directly to Santa Claus to find them homes between December 19th-24th, so they do not have to spend a lonely Christmas with no home of their own.

Dozens of Santa Barbara County underprivileged adults and children will have bicycles for Christmas, thanks to a long-standing Sheriff's Office tradition. Each year, the Sheriff's Office collects bicycles, either through evidence, recovered or unclaimed stolen property, abandonment or through donations.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office credits an anonymous tip for the discovery of a Goleta residence where a number of suspects were allegedly using and dealing narcotics. Following an investigation by Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau, a total of eight people were arrested on December 13, 2016 and more than $6,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin were seized.

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Angelo Gabriel Naemi was arrested on five counts of Grand Theft by False pretenses in violation of Penal Code Section 532(a), and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft in violation of Penal Code Section 182(a)(1). The criminal complaint alleges losses of over $500,000 to victims.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies arrested five people yesterday, December 13, 2016, who were associated with a vehicle that was discovered packed with thousands of dollars' worth of stolen property. The majority of the stolen items included brand-new, name-brand merchandise with tags and in some cases sensors still attached.
