At approximately 9:45 a.m. this morning, October 8, 2016, a 35-year-old Santa Barbara resident was seriously injured when a red Toyota Prius crashed into the front entrance of Trader Joe's in the 5700 block of Calle Real in Goleta and struck him.

A Goleta resident who was the suspect in an overnight robbery and subsequent burglary is in custody at the Santa Barbara County Jail. 24-year-old Tyler Alward is booked on charges of second degree robbery and first degree burglary.

Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland announced today that more than 138,000 Vote by Mail ballots will be delivered to the Post Office on Tuesday, October 11 for the Presidential General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
