The Santa Barbara County Parks Department takes pride in providing
people with opportunities for wholesome outdoor leisure and recreational
pursuits, which improve and maintain their physical and mental well-being.
At the same time, County Parks continues to foster conservation
of natural resources for present and future generations through
their active stewardship of public lands.
Santa Barbara County Parks maintains more than 71 acres of lawn
& shrub beds on the south coast. Most of this acreage is automatically
irrigated in order to conserve water while maintaining the health
and vigor of the plantings. County Parks continually monitors their
irrigation systems to ensure their good repair and efficiency. Click
on the links below for more information on specific Green Team activities
undertaken by the Parks Department.
